WHICH SERVICE DO YOU NEED?
At McCallum Injury Prevention & Care, we analyze your injury data and listen to your core focus,
to help determine the best solutions for your company.
INJURY PREVENTION
The hallmark of any successful employee wellness and safety initiative is injury prevention. Direct interaction and worker focused solutions is the best way to prevent injuries from happening and detecting early discomfort. Having practitioners on-site who use proven ergonomic tests/solutions and can identify early intervention needs is paramount.
OPERATIONS / PRODUCTION SAFETY
Ergonomic Risk Assessment Tools can be utilized to provide recommendations for task or process improvement. Job Coaching and Employee Observation will find safety challenges that can be addressed on the spot. We work directly with the Operations and Safety Team to improve employee and workplace safety.
PRE-EMPLOYMENT, FIT FOR DUTY TESTING
For those jobs with Heavy manual requirements,or a high injury rate, Post-Offer Pre-Employment Testing for job candidates delivers value during the hiring process as well as in the long term. The trained testers will carry out an unbiased test to identify job candidates that can safely perform the documented Critical Physical Demands. All tests are EEOC compliant and will test a candidate’s ability to physically perform required job tasks. The early introduction to Safety Culture is a great way to set the expectation for injury prevention. Additionally, onboarding expenses are decreased by identifying candidates that cannot physically perform the job.
OSHA 1st AID / PHYSICAL THERAPY CARE
Work related injury triage, 1st aid care for strains, sprains, slips, and falls can be applied and employees can return to work without requiring off site referral. For more serious injuries the physical therapist can provide advanced 1st aid, until the 911 responders arrive. Work and non-work-related injuries often sideline your employees, decreasing productivity and increasing costs. Providing rehab as quickly and conveniently as possible can get the employee back to health (and work) faster.
MUSCULOSKELETAL (MSK) DISCOMFORT MANAGEMENT
Jobs that involve material handling and repetitive activities have the potential to cause MSK discomfort and injuries. Usually there are warning signs the body provides such as tightness, discomfort or fatigue. When employees are encouraged to utilize the onsite clinic, discomfort or strains and sprains can be managed by the physical therapist before they require medical services or any lost time. This lowers your medical and indemnity costs, and recordable incidents.
WORK CONDITIONING / JOB COACHING
An individualized exercise program, that is job specific, is created for employees that need help regaining physical fitness for work activities. Employees with both Occupational and Non-Occupational issues can benefit from this program. When job coaching, the PT spends time observing an employee and learning how systems work and employees are required to lift and move. The result is targeted suggestions for an employee regarding movement, or discovery of a physical mismatch between the job and the employee’s abilities. A job specific rehab program can be provided to that employee, or the whole team, to prevent injuries from happening.
OFFICE ERGONOMICS
Work Station assessments include: recommendations for improved postures and equipment position, equipment purchasing (using predetermined budget) and self-management techniques to improve comfort. Often small but meaningful changes can increase employee comfort, satisfaction, and productivity.
FUNCTIONAL JOB ANALYSIS
A comprehensive process to identify and quantify the physical components of work tasks. Our therapists have specific training in Job Analysis. We measure and document every critical physical demand involved in a work task, for each job description. The analysis involves specific measurements for every activity (heights, weights, frequency, tools used). This is necessary for ADA compliant job testing, as well as accurate job accountability.
